Profile Rahim Kawooya - Aiming to provide a positive and inspirational alternative to the meaningless music that we hear everyday, Rahim is a twenty-year-old vocalist based in the northwest of England with a goal to introduce conscious artistry into mainstream music. Unlike many singers, Rahim only began taking singing seriously at the age of seventeen after writing a range of poems regarding topics affecting his life and society. Over the past year or two, he has been growing in popularity while performing at various prestigious events not only in the UK but in mainland Europe, alongside renowned artists such as The Sound of Reason, Akil (of Jurassic 5) and Dawud Wharsnsby.
In the last few months however, Rahim has been concentrating on producing, writing and composing a lot of his own solo material as his vocal and music production ability seems to be going from strength to strength. "The main reason I'm doing this is to inspire the youth who listen to my music" says Rahim who's focus is to create music with deep meaningful lyrics that promote good, so that those who listen to his music may learn from the values and lessons he conveys through his words. Born to an Arab mother and a Ugandan father, while being raised as a proud Briton, influences of his heritage, culture, upbringing and religion can be heard not only in his lyrics but via the musical influences within his songs.
